S8E15 Smash and Grab

It’s the semi final winners podcast as it’s the two John’s and Krys on.

There’s plenty to talk about with European action, league business, cup action and more.

There were mixed results for Celtic and Rangers in Europe with Rangers better placed to go through maybe.

The Premiership saw just two games played with Hamilton getting a good point and St Johnstone achieving back to back wins.

Semi final Sunday was a resounding success. The end result sees Celtic meet Aberdeen for the third time out of the last five major domestic tournaments. Could there be a chance that they split the games between the two venues again?

The lower leagues are covered with Dundee United going well under Neilson and Duffy winning his first game as Dumbarton boss.

If you think the men’s game in Scotland in dominated by one team in terms of league wins then the women’s game is in a different league. Glasgow City won their twelfth league title in a row.

The podcast concludes with some Scottish Cup chat, James McArthur and the tragic events at Leicester City.

S8E14 Penny for his Thoughts

It’s the two John’s on as they discuss the current events in Scottish football.

There’s plenty to talk about with league and Scottish Cup action at the weekend.

There’s another big weekend coming up with the League Cup semi finals taking place. Both games are getting played on the same day and are tough to call.

The Premiership saw Celtic continue to hit their stride in the game of the weekend. Dundee continue to struggle in the week that they appointed a new manager. Livingston continue to exceed expectations with their terrific start to the season.

The lower leagues saw Morton get victory against Falkirk in the return of Ray McKinnon. Gary Caldwell found out that the Partick Thistle job might be tougher than he thought and Ross County won the top of the table clash.

League One saw Arbroath and East Fife continue their fine form.

The Scottish Cup saw most games played to a finish but there will be one replay as Auchinleck Talbot host Cove Rangers.

The podcast concludes with some Scotland chat with both women’s and men’s teams being mentioned.

S8E13 Kardashian Bake Off

It’s Krys and the two Johns as they review the TV shows from the last week. There is some football chat too thrown in.

It starts with guilty pleasures and takes us on a journey back to some 90s nostalgia.

The guys do as much as they can to avoid talking about Scotland but it can’t be avoided. There are few positives to take from the two games.

There is a fair bit of managerial chat as Gary Caldwell has got the Partick Thistle job. In other news, Barry Ferguson has been offered Kelty Hearts job.

The chat leads to the Challenge Cup with Edinburgh City winning their first TV appearance in a great cup tie. That leads us to some chat about this weekends Scottish Cup games and young Stevie Mallan.

Krys gives us the weekly woman’s football report before the conversation changes to the lower leagues and upcoming Premiership games.

The 90s nostalgia leads us to Italy and Tennents.

S8E12 Forrest Trump

It’s the two John’s on as Krys has to miss the podcast which I’m sure he’ll get roasted for next week. That’s kind of a clue as to why he missed it.

The Edinburgh clubs remain on top in the Premiership but Hearts unbeaten run came to an end. Eight games in and everyone has lost at least once. There were goals galore in the top flight with only two teams failing to score. Aberdeen scored four against St Mirren for the second time this season. At the bottom end of the table, Dundee felt hard done by due to some questionable decisions and an unfortunate deflection.

Europe saw mixed results for Rangers and Celtic with a win and a loss respectively. It looks like it could be a tough task for Celtic to get through the group.

There is lower league chat with a few managers losing their job and yet another hat trick from Stephen Dobbie. He has gone on to sign a new deal which will delight the Queen of the South fans.

The podcast concludes with chat about the national team and the withdrawals of Griffiths and Fraser. Hopefully it doesn’t prove to be costly as squad doesn’t have a lot of attacking options.

S8E11 Salt n Sauce Premiership

It’s John and Krys on this week as they discuss what’s happening in Scottish football.

Plenty to talk about with the Premiership review, the lower leagues, European chat and the Scotland squad being announced.

The Premiership has a distinct eastern flavour with the Edinburgh clubs on top and near neighbours Livingston not far off. The guys talk tactics with two up front becoming trendy again though in different formations.

Csaba won the Dundee sack race in the week that McCann got his first league win of the season. Ayr are on top in the Championship with Shankland continuing to be on a hot streak in front of goal. League One and League Two remain the same at the top too.

The Scotland squad has been announced which looks to be a strong squad. There is a bit of chat about players and then choosing or swapping international allegiance.

The podcast ends with a bit of chat on Glasgow City and the women’s football which continues to be positive.
